Spaces We Love This Month: January
20 January, 2025

Creating spaces that wow takes more than luck- it requires curiosity, awareness, and a drive to learn from the ideas shaping the world around us. In today’s fast-paced world, we have unlimited access to inspiration to help us create those life-changing spaces that our clients crave.

The team are always on the look out for the most wonderful spaces in the world, using them to shape our visions and ideas. Thinking big, bold and beyond the ordinary is a given. This month, we’ve been inspired by paces like Stockholm’s office rollercoaster, a fungi-built myelin structure, and China’s Emerald Screen Pergola, both rewriting the rules of design and construction. These concepts challenge convention, turning wild ideas into jaw-dropping realities.

Could these extraordinary spaces influence your next project?

The Growing Pavilion Mycelium structure

The mycelium-inspired structure made from fungi is nothing short of revolutionary. The concept takes nature’s genius and transforms it into something unforgettable. By mimicking the fungal material that is obtained from mushrooms, scientists and designers have created a bio-based material from fungi that’s both sustainable and incredibly strong. What excites us most about this concept is how it challenges everything we thought we knew about design and materials. Fungi? Who would have thought it could be the key to creating groundbreaking structures?

The Frontal Lobe - The worlds first indoor rollercoaster

Located in the offices of creative studio ‘The Great Exhibition’ this indoor rollercoaster breaks free from the dullness of traditional workplaces. Inspired by the company’s playful and imaginative culture, the rollercoaster track weaves through the entire office creating an environment that’s not just functional but genuinely fun.

Applying this concept to your own interior space doesn’t mean installing a rollercoaster but finding ways to inject personality and playfulness. By balancing creativity with function, you create an environment where people feel both comfortable and inspired, a space that works as hard as it wows.

China's Emerald Screen Pergola

China’s Emerald Screen Pergola is an example of how architecture can blend seamlessly with nature to create an immersive experience. The pergola’s use emerald-coloured panels to create a play of light and shadow that shifts throughout the day, offering a dynamic, ever-changing atmosphere.

The idea of using light, shadow, and colour to craft a dynamic, evolving experience is often overlooked in traditional interiors. But imagine applying this approach to your own interior vision, allowing it to evolve with the changing seasons and light, creating a new experience at different times of day or throughout the year. This concept shows how we can infuse life and energy into interiors by connecting them to the outside world in unexpected ways.

The inspiration behind these spaces reveals how bold thinking and a willingness to explore new materials and designs can lead to environments that are both functional and full of life. Each of these concepts challenges traditional norms and shows us how creative, sustainable, and innovative design can elevate a space from the ordinary to the exceptional.

At Envisage Spaces Group, we’re passionate about bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to every project. We know that no two clients are the same, which is why we approach each project with the same energy and excitement, crafting spaces that are tailored to your needs.
